Are you a frustrated artist, or perhaps wondering if it’s possible to revive the talent you once showed?
Unfortunately life has a habit of putting “me time” on hold, and then it’s harder to get back into the swing.
That’s maybe where the Yeovil Art Group can help.
Formed in 1947, in the grey post-war years of ration books and shortages, the Art Group still continues today to bring colour into the lives of its members.
These members, drawn from all walks of life, are interested and talented people from Yeovil, South Somerset, and Dorset. They include professional and semi-professional artists, though the majority are gifted amateurs of all abilities.
As a member of Yeovil Art Group you have access to all our activities. These include weekly afternoon painting sessions during term-time, and evening demonstrations of styles and techniques by well-known West Country painters. There are also practical workshops under the guidance of professional artists, as well as two Exhibitions of members’ work annually. We also like to take advantage of sunny summer days to travel to a beautiful spot to paint in the open.
The Autumn and Annual Spring Exhibitions, the showcase to celebrate members’ work, are always varied. The paintings reflect the many tastes, travels, and talents of our members. The pictures are for sale, although the main motive for exhibiting is the desire to share the pleasure of painting.
Local Artist Moish Sokal recently accepted the invitation by Yeovil Art Group to be our Patron
