We are, obviously, about painting. But we are also about encouraging those latent talents to the surface again after perhaps many years in the dark.

Our mission is to help people enjoy painting in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere, with the maximum of encouragement, and perhaps an occasional,(optional), challenge,  Come to our Monday afternoon painting sessions in Birchfield Hall. We have materials there to help you get started. Why not come along for a taster session, a cuppa and a biscuit, all for £2.00!

Annual membership is currently £24.00 for an individual member and runs from April each year

And to improve our burgeoning skills we have evening demonstrations by top-notch West Country painters. Recent artists include Rebecca de Mendonça, Jake Winkle, Richard Turner, Harley Crossley, John Meaker. Their media are, respectively, pastels, watercolour, pastels, oils. Do look at their websites and be impressed!

Not only that, we also have periodic all-day Saturday workshops with local artists and teachers; very hands-on, and always something new to take home at the end of the day.

All this leads to our Exhibitions: two a year. Our major, annual, Exhibition is in Spring/early Summer at the Octagon, and our Autumn Exhibition has found a home in the performing Arts Library.

With an active and enthusiastic committee our aim is for Yeovil Art Group to be a dynamic organisation that serves its members well.

Our website was set up in 2010 with the support of a grant from the Yeovil Town Council.  We are also grateful to South Somerset District Council, who kindly support us by printing publicity material for our Spring Exhibition, and to Rick Lord of Eckhomedia for managing the website for us.
