2025 Exhibition

2025 Exhibition

26 July 2025

In 2023, we took exhibition space in the Digby Church Memorial Hall in the heart of Sherborne for an experimental one-day exhibition of our art.

In 2025 we will be there again,But for TWO days this time !!

The Yeovil Art Group’s next Summer Exhibition of Art will take place at the Digby Memorial Hall, Digby Road, Sherborne (opposite the famous Abbey) over the weekend of Saturday and Sunday, 26th and 27th July, 2025.

Next year’s Exhibition will again show off our members’ impressive works of art in the spacious and well-lit Digby Memorial Hall, with plenty of room to offer our visitors an enticing treat of home-made cakes, coffees and teas along with our paintings.  In 2023, ceramics, jewellery and live drawing were demonstrated, which proved to be very popular with our visitors.  Despite it being a one-day affair, held in early May, perhaps drawn by the promise of a delicious cake, our appreciative visitors were enthralled by our art and bought several - and we gained some new members as a result!

The success of the last exhibition was made possible by the generous and enthusiastic assistance of several art group members.  So, of course we will be hoping for volunteers again!  Can you assist us in making it a huge success?  Our Exhibition of Art will be widely advertised and publicised in local media and in and around Sherborne and the wider area. There will also be many more visitors in Sherborne by July, to give us maximum footfall.  Let’s make this THE ‘MUST-SEE’ EVENT in South Somerset and Dorset!!

MOST OF ALL – WE NEED YOUR PAINTINGS!

It’s never too soon to start finding inspiration and planning your three exhibition paintings!    All themes and mediums are acceptable and new members are welcome.

Rules, conditions and fees for entry to this prestige exhibition will be sent to all YAG members in late April 2025.   If you have any questions, suggestions or would like to volunteer, please contact the Exhibition Coordinator, Liz Webster, on [email protected] or 01935 474095, or any member of the Committee.  Thank you.

How YAG Members can help

Last year’s helpers agreed that it had been a most enjoyable and interesting day.  If you would like to be involved in setting up or closing the exhibition and/or during the event itself, please contact Liz Webster, Exhibition Coordinator, at the email or telephone address below. Here are some of the things where we would welcome some assistance (fine details to be confirmed nearer the time):

·        Setting up tables and chairs, probably on the afternoon of the 25th.
