GRAND "ONE DAY" SUMMER EXHIBITION

GRAND

13 May 2023

A GRAND *ONE-DAY* SUMMER EXHIBITION WILL BE HELD IN SHERBORNE’S DIGBY MEMORIAL HALL ON

SATURDAY 13TH MAY 2023!

Early this summer, Yeovil Art Group will be doing something completely different!  Don’t miss out!

For the first time, an exciting One-Day (‘pop-up’?) Summer Exhibition is planned to take place in the Digby Church Memorial Hall in Sherborne’s Digby Road, which runs between the station and the famous Abbey. It is aimed at giving members of the Yeovil Art Group a truly Grand Opportunity to showcase their unique paintings, drawings, sculpture, pottery and home-made jewellery. Not only will the art itself be a visual treat, but visitors will be able to watch an art demonstration before enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and delicious home-made cakes, which should put them in the mood to splash the cash!  An added plus for artists is that YAG will take no commission on any articles sold.

Our Grand One-Day Summer Exhibition will be widely publicised in the area beforehand, especially in Sherborne itself and is expected to be a popular attraction for Sherborne visitors and locals alike.

If you would like to part in the Grand One-Day Summer Exhibition – watch This Space!

All members were contacted by email or post during early March, with Instructions on preparing your exhibits, Entry Forms and Exhibition Conditions & Terms.

NOTICE
Deadline for return of entries will now be Monday 17th April. (This has been brought forward from 24th April due to the Coronation and the resulting two Bank Holiday Mondays on 1st and 8th May, when there will be no afternoon art sessions).

VOLUNTEERS WANTED!  To make the day go with a swing, the exhibition will require willing volunteers for stewarding, helping to set up display stands and exhibits, baking cakes, serving teas and the myriad things that make an occasion like this work.  If you can volunteer to help, even for a short time, it will be very much appreciated. Yvonne Shayler will be in charge of volunteering, with back-up from Liz Webster, so please make yourself known to either of us if you think you can help.  Thank you.
